Friday, August 20th SpaceLAB Recordings unveils the second single from Solving Cases - the long-awaited collaborative LP from New Jersey mainstay & Artifacts alumni El Da Sensei, & producer / engineer / emcee Jake Palumbo - known for his work with artists such as Black Moon, Ras Kass, Roc Marciano & many more.
After the duo’s energetic first single “Blast Off” hit the airwaves - supported heavily by DJ’s, FM & satellite radio in the weeks leading up to the 7/23 release date - they knew they needed a very strong follow up, & each time it was discussed, the duo kept coming back to “Bring It In Loud.”
The song might be conspicuously placed at Track 13 on the full-length LP, but the cream of the crop is often saved for last for a reason. El Da Sensei once again proves himself to be the Energizer Bunny of Hip-Hop - continuously going & going, never getting winded or missing a step, over Palumbo’s abstract-but head-nod-inducing instrumental.
Joining the duo for the ride is Brooklyn emcee John Robinson - who began his career in 1996 on Bobbito Garcia’s legendary Fondle ‘Em Records, recording as Lil Sci as a member the group Scienz of Life. Since going solo in the mid-2000’s John Robinson has released more than 20 LP’s & EP’s, both solo & with various producers & collaborators. For an emcee known for his subdued, thoughtful, quiet tone, J.R. opts to get in his bag on this one, & turns in a blazing guest appearance & syncopated flow that left even Palumbo & the Sensei pleasantly shocked at what just occurred in the booth.
El Da Sensei & Jake Palumbo will be dropping a series of webisodes beginning Friday, 7/30 on the SpaceLAB Recordings YouTube channel (
www.youtube.com/spacelabrecordings ), & will continue releasing new webisodes each Friday until their 9/24 album release date, giving listeners a peek behind the scenes at how this unlikely collaboration came to be.
Solving Cases hits all DSPs & streaming services, as well as CD on Friday, September 24th, via SpaceLAB Recordings / Soulspazm Records. For all press & interview inquiries, radio drops, booking, & features, please email
